Psychodynamic Counselling

We have all heard the saying: “a problem shared is a problem halved”.
Yet sometimes speaking to a family member or friend can be the most difficult, as we are often afraid of what they might think of us.

My approach is psychodynamic and person centred, meaning that I am always curious as to what has led you to this place. By working on key themes in your past, you can learn to emotionally heal and let go of limiting beliefs, negative emotions and internal conflicts. I will ask you to provide me with a brief life history so that we may “throw out the tapestry of your life”, recognising that everything that has ever happened has brought you to this moment. My approach means that it is no longer necessary to spend years in therapy. We will focus on integrative and bespoke interventions to bring lasting change.
I regularly hear the words “I have never told anyone this.” I will create a safe space where you can explore your internal thoughts, feelings and desires in confidence and without judgement.  I can also incorporate clinical hypnosis, NLP and coaching to complement our work together and help you create the life you want.

With a warm and open style, I have helped many clients, dealing with such issues as:

  • Anxiety

  • Childhood Trauma
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Abuse
  • Relationships

I have clinical experience helping those with more complex needs such as: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Sexual Abuse, Rape, Mental Health diagnosis such as OCD, EUPD, Bipolar, Trauma, Eating Disorders, Childhood abuse, Domestic Violence, Miscarriage, and Narcissistic abuse.

I can work alongside your GP to offer a holistic approach that may help to reduce your symptoms and improve your general mental health and wellbeing.

I offer counselling in Waterlooville and Hampshire, as well as online, throughout the UK and internationally. For some clients having Skype, FaceTime, WhatsApp or telephone counselling sessions may offer greater flexibility and access to therapy.

So, if you are ready to go on this journey, even if you are nervous or doubt your ability to change, remember you were not born this way. At some point this suffering was created.  I have worked with many clients who bravely took that first step. After just a few sessions they now have greater happiness, a better understanding of themselves and are enjoying their life again.
